Melissa is a 2004 graduate of Capital University Law School. While studying at Capital University Law School, she was selected to serve as an extern with U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. In 2004, Melissa began her career in family law working for the Capital University Family Advocacy Clinic, providing compassionate and effective representation for survivors of domestic violence. As the Supervising Attorney at Capital University Law School’s Self-Represented Resource Center, she assisted pro se litigants with a wide range of family law matters and was responsible for managing and providing training to legal interns. Melissa has extensive experience with all areas of domestic relations, including divorce, child custody, child support, parenting time, dissolution, and paternity matters.

In her free time, Melissa enjoys spending time with her wife and son, bicycle racing, bicycle touring, and trail running. In 2010 she completed the Trans-American bicycle route, a coast to coast bicycle touring route.

She is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Columbus Bar Association. She is a certified Court appointed mediator for Franklin County Domestic Relations Court.
