What Are Temporary Orders?

While a divorce case is pending in the court system (i.e., waiting to be adjudicated finally by a judge), the court may issue temporary orders, including orders specifying spousal support, child support, parenting time and the payment of debts and expenses.

Once the divorce is finalized, these temporary orders will oftentimes be superseded by the orders contained in the final Decree of Divorce, although the orders may also be preserved in the final documents.
