Biography
Montana MacDonald is a dedicated family law attorney with a background in business and tax, providing her valuable insight in navigating financial matters related to domestic relations practice. Utilizing her understanding the tax implications of support, child custody arrangements, and division of assets, her expertise allows her to offer clients informed, strategic advice that considers both the legal and financial aspects of their unique situation.
Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Montana graduated with honors from the University of Alabama, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Business Administration specializing in finance and economics. While obtaining her degree, Montana interned at a Low Income Taxpayer Clinic before taking over as head of the clinic upon graduation, helping taxpayers navigate various complex tax issues and overseeing the preparation of thousands of tax returns. After working for two years, Montana then attended Capital University Law School, where she graduated magna cum laude with pro bono legal honors. During her time at Capital, she further expanded upon her tax and business knowledge, working as the student supervisor for Capital's Low Income Taxpayer Clinic and as a clerk for the Legal Aid of Southwestern and Central Ohio tax team alongside her tax law classes, where she received the Cali Award for Excellence in Federal Tax Procedure.
During her time in law school, Montana also gained invaluable litigation skills through her participation in Moot Court as an advocate, Clerk, and eventual Co-Chief Justice of the program. Her passion for child welfare and family law originated in the Moot Court program through her leadership role in conceptualizing and organizing the Child Welfare, and Adoption Law Moot Court Competition put on by Capital University Law School.
